Each band is a genuinely different project. The jump between bands is much bigger than the differences inside a band.
What actually moves the number
Cabinets and countertops carry most of any kitchen budget. Moving a sink, a gas line, or a wall is what pushes a project into the top band, because plumbing, engineering, and permits come with it.
Where people overspend
The most common mistake we see is paying custom cabinet prices for a kitchen that keeps the same layout. Semi custom lines cover most Central Florida kitchens beautifully at a fraction of the cost, and we will tell you when the upgrade is not worth it.
What to do first
Get a written line item scope before you commit to anything. Any legitimate contractor will walk your kitchen, listen to what you actually want, and put real numbers on paper for your exact project. That document is what protects you.
