Tile Floors: common questions
Why does tile crack or come loose?
Almost always the substrate rather than the tile. Movement, an uneven base or a missing crack isolation layer will telegraph through any tile you put on top, however good it is.
Do you prepare the floor before tiling?
Yes, and it is the part of the job that decides how long the floor lasts. Layout planning and substrate preparation come before any tile is set.
Do you do bathrooms and wet areas?
Yes. Wet areas need waterproofing under the tile, and that is inspected work where the scope requires it.
